All-on-6 budget template
Print this page or copy it into a notebook. Fill in each line from written prices, and you will know your true total before you book a flight.
An All-on-6 budget has six parts: the treatment price for the jaws you need, extras the scan might add, the first trip, the second trip, a reserve, and the first year of care at home. Fill each line from written quotes and real fares, not estimates. The total is the figure to compare with a UK quote and with other clinics.
Budgets go wrong when lines are missing, not when sums are wrong. This template lists every line we know of for All-on-6 abroad, grouped by when you will pay it. Leave a line at zero if it does not apply, but do not delete it until you are sure. If you are comparing clinics, fill in one copy for each.
Key points
- The budget has six parts: treatment, extras, first trip, second trip, reserve and the first year at home.
- Fill every line from a written price or a real fare.
- Mark estimates so you can see how much of the total is still a guess.
- Fill in one copy for each clinic you are comparing.
- The total is the figure to compare with a UK quote.
Part 1: the treatment
| Line | Notes | £ |
|---|---|---|
| Treatment price | From the written plan. One jaw or both? Check. | |
| Extractions, if not included | Per-tooth price × teeth to remove | |
| Temporary teeth, if not included | Should be fixed, not removable | |
| Titanium bar, if not included | Per jaw | |
| Final teeth upgrade, if any | For example zirconia instead of acrylic | |
| Scan and X-rays, if not included | CBCT scan on arrival | |
| Medication, if not included | After surgery |
At Precious Dental, every line in Part 1 is included in the £6,500 both-jaws price, so only the first line is filled in. Other clinics may need several. Our price breakdown explains each part.
Part 2: extras the scan might add
| Line | Notes | £ |
|---|---|---|
| Sinus lift | Upper jaw only; price per procedure × number | |
| Bone graft | Price per cc or per site | |
| Zygomatic implants | Rare; price each |
If you do not know yet, include anything the clinic said might be needed. At Precious Dental the prices are £350 per sinus lift, £150 per cc of bone graft and £2,000 per zygomatic implant.
Part 3: the first trip
| Line | Notes | £ |
|---|---|---|
| Flights | Return fare × travellers | |
| Getting to the UK airport | Parking, train or taxi, both ways | |
| Hotel, if not included | Nights × rate | |
| Room supplement for a companion | Ask the clinic or hotel | |
| Transfers, if not included | Airport, hotel, clinic | |
| Meals | Days × daily amount × travellers | |
| Travel insurance | For each traveller; tell the insurer about treatment | |
| Time off work | Lost earnings, if any |
Part 4: the second trip
| Line | Notes | £ |
|---|---|---|
| Flights | Usually about four months after the first trip | |
| Getting to the UK airport | ||
| Hotel, if not included | Check the package covers this trip too | |
| Meals | ||
| Travel insurance, if a separate policy | ||
| Time off work |
Precious Dental's package includes 4 hotel nights on the first trip and 5 on the second, with transfers. Many packages cover only the first trip's hotel; check.
Part 5: reserve
| Line | Notes | £ |
|---|---|---|
| Spare return trip | One fare per person who would travel | |
| Extra nights | Two or three at the hotel's rate | |
| Flight change | Change fee or flexible fare difference |
The NHS suggests allowing for an extended stay and return trips. A contingency budget explains how to size this.
Part 6: the first year at home
| Line | Notes | £ |
|---|---|---|
| Soft food in the early weeks | Small, but real | |
| Pharmacy items | Painkillers, mouthwash; prescriptions in England are £9.90 per item | |
| UK check-ups | NHS Band 1 in England is £27.90; private fees vary | |
| Hygienist visits | As your dentist advises | |
| Cleaning aids | Interdental brushes, water flosser | |
| Night guard | If you grind |

Using the total
- Compare it with a UK quote plus anything the UK quote leaves out, plus any finance cost. See UK finance vs paying abroad.
- Compare it across clinics, one template each.
- Plan the cash flow: which lines are paid when. Most fall at booking, on each trip and in the months after. See paying across two trips.
- Keep the template with your paperwork, and update it as real prices replace estimates.
A note on the years after
The template covers the first year. After that, budget yearly for check-ups and cleaning, and put a little aside towards a replacement set of teeth many years from now. Budgeting for a replacement bridge shows how. The lifetime cost has the bigger picture.
How to fill it in well
A template is only as good as the numbers that go into it. A few habits make the difference between a budget you can rely on and one that drifts.
- Use written figures only. If a clinic told you a price in a phone call or a chat message, ask for it in an email or a PDF plan before it goes on the sheet.
- Mark estimates. Put a small "e" next to any figure you have guessed, such as meals, and replace it when you know better. At the end you can see at a glance how much of your total is still a guess.
- Check dates for flights. Look up fares for the actual weeks the clinic has offered, not the cheapest week you can find. The second trip is usually around four months after the first.
- Count people, not trips. Every line in Parts 3 and 4 should be multiplied by the number of people travelling.
- Write the source next to each price. "Clinic plan, 12 March" or "airline site, 14 March". If anything changes, you know where to look.
A filled-in example
Here is a short version of the template filled in for one person travelling alone to Precious Dental for both jaws, with no extras needed. The travel figures are illustrations.
| Part | What went in | £ |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Treatment | All-on-6, both jaws, everything in Part 1 included | £6,500 |
| 2. Extras | None after the scan | 0 |
| 3. First trip | Flight £200, parking £40, meals £60, insurance £30 | 330 |
| 4. Second trip | Flight £200, parking £40, meals £60 | 300 |
| 5. Reserve | One spare trip, two nights | 350 |
| 6. First year at home | Two NHS check-ups, hygienist, cleaning aids | 200 |
| True total | about 7,680 |
With a companion, a sinus lift or dearer flights, it would be higher. With cheaper flights or no reserve used, lower. The template does not tell you what is a good price; it tells you what your price really is.
Mistakes the template is designed to catch
- A one-jaw price entered as if it covered both jaws.
- A hotel that is included on the first trip but not the second.
- Extractions that are charged per tooth.
- A companion's flights forgotten on the second trip.
- No reserve at all.
- Nothing budgeted for check-ups after treatment.
When the numbers change
Prices and fares change between first enquiry and booking. Re-check the treatment price and your flights just before you commit, update the template, and keep the final version with your written plan.
Once the template is complete, share it with anyone helping you pay or travelling with you, so everyone is working from the same numbers.
The bottom line
Six parts, about thirty lines, every one filled from a written price or a real fare. It takes an evening, and it is the most reliable way to know what All-on-6 will really cost you. If you would rather not do it by hand, the calculator covers the main lines in a few minutes.
Common questions
Is this the same as the calculator?
It covers the same ground in more detail, as a list you can fill in by hand. The calculator adds the main lines automatically.
Where do I get the figures?
From the clinic's written plan for treatment and extras, from airline websites for flights, and from your UK dentist for aftercare.
What if I do not know a figure yet?
Write a cautious estimate and mark it, then replace it when you have the real figure.
Should I fill one in for each clinic?
Yes, if you are comparing clinics. The treatment and extras lines change; the travel lines may too, if packages differ.
